The chair itself operates smoothly (arm position, forward position, lean, heights, lumbar ETC), and I can set it up for *exactly* my needs. I suspect they did this to give it a *new* look. I have no gone through the effort to remove the covering to see if the original rubberized arms are under the new covering. The Leap chairs usually have a rubberized material on them, and these refurbished chairs have a leather type material covering them. The only thing I do NOT like about the chair is the refurb on the arms. Also, these chairs aren't hard to take apart and re-fabric if I ever wanted to go in that direction. The fabric isn't as comfy as the original Leap fabric however it will break in nicely I suspect. No tools required to stick th em together.Īll of the fabric on the chair is new.which is good.because if you've ever seen a leap office chair after years of use, there is usually a stain on the seat.
Not sure why.and results with who you deal with may vary. Most of these discount office chairs are coming from the same building in Elizabethtown NJ. My understanding is that if they aren't stocked, it can take a while for them to get the lots of chairs they use and refurb. The chair arrived to me quickly - 2 Days. I suspected that the chair was not just "open box", but more of a "used and refurbished". I've been using the leap for more than 10 years (maybe longer) so I am an EXPERT on comparison.
Speaking from experience, we have these Leap chairs at work, which is why I ordered one. What did you expect for 1/5 of the price?ĭon't think that you're going to order a $900 chair for less than $250 and it won't be refurbished. Vollständige Rezension lesenīestätigter Kauf: Ja | Artikelzustand: Gebraucht I didn't want to take time from from a busy schedule to go to one of the few office furniture stores that carry high end brands like Steelcase, so I bought the chair mail order hoping that a big discount on a famous chair would solve my home office chair problem at a reasonable price. I broke my cardinal rule of furniture buying: Never buy a chair you haven't sat in, and now I'm regretting it. The one I use at work has far fewer adjustments, but is actually more comfortable and probably cost half what I paid for this one. Three hundred dollars buys a LOT of office chair. But I didn't pay $100 for it, I paid $300. If I had bought this chair for $100 I would have said it's not perfect, but it'll do fine for a while until I find something I like better. What's not great is the value for money equation.
Compared to that, this chair is a great improvement. I bought this chair to replace a wooden kitchen chair that I had been using at the desk in my office. The upholstery on the seat also feels a little uneven, and in fact looks uneven if you look at the chair carefully from the front. The seat has a slight forward tilt to it that I can't get rid of (the lip adjustment on the front of the seat doesn't change the overall angle). The chair looks nice enough, but despite its numerous adjustments, I can't find a position for it that's truly comfortable. You can get better warranties for refurbished office chairs elsewhere, but you're also going to be paying more for that. If you're looking for a refurbished product at a relatively good, refurbished price, this is definitely worth a look. Overall, if you want a brand new in box chair, this is probably not it. I do already notice the fabric of the backrest does not stay taut after getting up. The fabric seems to be in relatively new condition. Some scratches and smudges on the text on some parts of the chair. There were some minor cosmetic imperfections. The gas cylinder was heavily bubble wrap (probably because it could do some serious damage while being shaken around otherwise. The seat, back, and armrests were preassembled together, while the base/wheels and then the gas cylinder were wrapped separately. Lots of empty space caused some serious damage to the box during shipment. The packaging was somewhat lackluster, everything was bubble wrapped, but thrown into a very large box.
